Review your Surf and Immerse images to elevate the look and feel of content and make information easer to consume.

Is the image high quality?
Is it relevant to what's being discussed in the chapter?
Could a video be used (rather than an image) to add movement to the page?
Does the image/video encourage the reader to enter the Immerse level?
Is the Heading and Subheading text legible in relation to the image?
Is there text on the image that's conflicting with the Heading and Subheading?
Less successful Surf imagery: A low resolution image has been used which also includes a watermark. Subheading text is challenging to read in relation to the image.
Successful Surf imagery: A high resolution image has been used which is relevant to the content. Using the Inset Surf style ensures text is easy to read.
Use high resolution, striking images to complement the message of the chapter.
Replace static Surf images with short videos to draw readers in.
Choose a Surf style and position that compliments the image and doesn't cover key focal points.
Avoid uploading images and videos which include text as it could be cut off on mobile devices (it's also not SEO-friendly or accessible!)
Ensure Headings and Subheadings are short, snappy and compliment the image.
Check the mobile view!
Less successful Surf video: This busy video includes lots of movement as well as text, which detracts from the Heading and Subheading and may increase Bounce rate.
Successful Surf video: A simple but effective video has been placed on the cover page, supporting the short and punchy description.
Have you included images to break up text-heavy sections on the page?
Are the images good quality and vibrant?
Are the images pinned and expanded so they stand out on the page?
Could you utilize the Zoom, Caption, or Hyperlink settings within the image to make it more interactive or useful within the content?
Is the image style consistent with the look and feel of the rest of the content? E.g. stock photography vs illustrative style.
Less successful Immerse imagery: Although the image is high resolution, it's lost amongst heavy text and small on the page. It's unpinned, so as more copy is added to the page, the image will shift.
Successful Immerse imagery: This high resolution image has been pinned to the page and stretched across multiple columns to create a feature, supporting the content of the Quote widget.
Utilize free image libraries like Pixabay (available via Turtl's UI) Pexels or Unsplash.
Pin and stretch images across columns to create a feature on the page.
Change the focal point of an image by holding down Option or Alt and dragging the image within the frame.
For infographics or images with text, turn off the Auto-fill setting to stop it snapping to the columns and grid lines.
Enable the "Zoom" functionality within the image to allow readers to zoom in on details.
