Tips and tricks to guide readers to take a desired action and within a piece of content.

What do you want the reader to do after reading the Doc, or within a specific chapter?
How can you guide them to take that action through CTAs (e.g. hyperlinks, forms)
If hyperlinking readers to another page (internal or external), is the the ‘style’ button utilized to make the CTA stand out?
If you want to capture reader's details, are you using a sign-up form?
If using a form, how much information can you gather as a fair exchange for the content?
Less successful CTA: While this page includes hyperlinks, they are not easily detectable upon first glance. Including multiple CTA's on a page can cause confusion, leading readers to not choose all, if at any, action on the page.
Successful CTA: This page includes a singular CTA that stands out on the page by using the link "Style" functionality option. This takes the hyperlink from a standard, underlined link and transforms it to look like a button - making it easily detectable and click-able.
Consider what you want the reader to do within each section and ensure there's a clear call to action.
If you have multiple CTAs that link off to external content, style them in a similar way e.g. all in the same button colour, to signal to the reader than an action can be taken.
Less can be more. A reader isn't going to follow every CTA within your content, so focus on what's important and remove any distractions.
Experiment with soft and hard gates, their placement (Cover, Immerse Chapter, Back Cover), and CTAs to see what gets the best result.
