This month we chat with **Mike Judge**, our **Sales Development Representative**
I work in Sales Development focusing on the technology industry. The main task is initiating a conversation with a new prospect in a target account, which is achieved through a variety of ways. I try to mix up the different channels such as calls (the phone isn’t dead), email, social, and video. I work closely with marketing to increase visibility with our target accounts and on different campaigns to follow up on the leads derived from them.
The best part is making an impact and offering the potential to businesses to solve their problems. I think flexibility is really important and adapting to the different conversations or challenges is part of the fun. Sales is like being part of an on-going social experiment, people are very different.
I literally just got a desk, so it’s been a different routine every day. I try to work outside when it’s sunny. I take breaks and switch off by doing something fun, like washing up. I live with my girlfriend and she works from home too so we take it in turns to cook. I got really into running at the start and did my first half marathon, I also bought a punch bag for the garden. Streaming yoga and Pilates happens occasionally, but you always question how good it is for your neck when your straining and looking up at the TV, the irony... At the start, it was all about quizzes wasn’t it? I haven’t done a quiz for a while but started watching a show on Netflix called Parts Unknown featuring Anthony Bourdain, if you like food, places, and people it's great.
Music, films, exercise, cooking, reading, catching up with friends and family.
That’s a difficult one, I really liked Mykonos and Budapest but lots of places still to see.
