Sarah Graham Account Manager Workplace Wellbeing Services Team, Mind
Mind uses Turtl for a broad range of activities, but I’m specifically focused on using Turtl to promote the services that we offer in Workplace Wellbeing, including the Workplace Wellbeing Index - a benchmark of best policy and practice to help companies improve their approach to mental health in the workplace. We use Turtl to create everything from interactive brochures and comms packs to support clients. Creating our content in Turtl has allowed us to do things more interactively, embed videos, make the most out of our imagery, and keep everything on-brand.
When I first started at Mind, our comms team introduced me to the tool. I hadn’t had any brand training yet so there’s always a concern at a new job of accidentally creating something off-brand. Because your brand is pre-coded in Turtl, it’s literally impossible to get fonts and colors wrong.
I would say I’m most proud of the comms pack I created for our clients. In the past, whenever a new client joined us we would send separate documents over to them via Dropbox to help them promote the Workplace Wellbeing Index within their businesses. We had a lot of problems with this because various companies couldn’t access it within their organizations. I suggested we use Turtl instead because I thought it would be good to have everything central, and the comms lead agreed. Now, all our resources are either embedded within the Turtl document or linked there for people to access. It makes things easier for us and our clients.
In previous roles, I’ve often needed to send design work to freelancers, which is obviously more expensive and time-consuming. Also, when you’re outsourcing content creation, you have less control over making changes. Turtl’s a really intuitive tool that lets you chop and change things easily.
Just open up a blank document and play around in it. It’s hard to make something that looks bad. Experiment with different layouts and functions until you get a feel for it.
Also, make the most of the Turtl team, support materials, and help function. Our account manager, Lucy, offered her tips and tricks and I took her up on it - this has really boosted my confidence using the tool. The team wants you to get the most out of Turtl so they’re happy to help.
