What's what on your data dashboards in Turtl
The company dashboard in Turtl provides you with insight across all the published documents in your company's account.
The graph shows the reads and signups you've had across all of your published content over a particular timeframe (default is the last 30 days).
The dropdown menus across the top of the dashboard allow you to filter the data in the following ways:
Timeframe
Source (how people arrived at your content)
Device (mobile, tablet, desktop)
Country of reader
Label (more on these later)
UTM tags
CRM list (requires integration)
Workspaces
ReadsThe total number of times a Turtl Doc was opened and the reader turned the first page i.e. they did not bounce
ReadersThe total number of unique readers who have read a Doc
Sign-upsThe total number of readers who filled out a lead capture form. This can be the default Turtl form or an integrated form from a CRM, and forms can be added to Immerse pages or the back cover.
SharesThe total number of times the Doc was shared by a reader using the share buttons within the content. We do not track shares made by, for example, someone sharing the content directly on Twitter.
Avg read timeThe average time each reader spent reading
Bounce rateThe percentage of reads where the reader opened and closed a Doc but did not take any action e.g. turning the first page.
You'll then see a breakdown of reads by source, device, and reader location, followed by a list detailing the overall performance of each document in your library. Below the document list is your known readers' list, which are readers who have completed a form or are in your CRM and been issued a unique link to the Doc.
Your document dashboard features the same top-level metrics as your company dashboard, but the data is specific to the given Turtl Doc. Instead of a document list, you'll have a list of each chapter in the selected piece with their own metrics. At this level, you'll see:
Reads: number of reads of the Surf page
Sign-ups: number of sign-ups generated from that chapter (only possible if a gate has been applied to that chapter)
Shares: shares generated from that chapter via Immerse widgets or from the top of the Surf page.
Avg. Surf Time: On average, how long did the readers spend on the Surf page before taking action.
CTR (Click-through rate): the percentage of readers from the surf page who clicked into the Immerse level.
Avg. Immerse Time: On average how long your readers spent within the Immerse section for that chapter.
Tip: hover over the shares with your mouse to see where the shares were made.
For example, see how many times an image has been clicked, a URL has been clicked or a video has been watched.
Polls: Hover over the "Results" button to view the results of your poll. You can also see how many people have answered under "clicks" and the number of times the poll was shared on social media under the "shares" column.
Quotes: See how many social shares happened for each quote and hover over the share number to find out which social media sites were used
Links: Total clicks on URL links
Videos: number of views and average view time
Images: number of views and average view time (when zoomable)
Charts: See how many people have clicked on an interactive chart and how long on average they spent looking at it
Tip: You can label your Immerse widgets under the "Misc" tab on the individual widget's settings. This label will be used as the title in this part of the document's analytics and can help you identify them more easily in the list.
At the bottom of your document dashboard, you'll find a list of your known readers who have engaged with the document within the selected timeframe.
You can see where each reader came from, whether they're stored in Turtl or your CRM, how many times they've opened the document, whether they've shared it, and how long they read it for in total. Clicking on their name here will take you to a dashboard that shows how they engaged with that particular document.
You can see how individual readers interact with your content in Turtl once they've completed a form or if they're in your CRM and have navigated to the content from a URL that has the relevant tag appended to it.
The same metrics we've already seen are presented here too but are specific to the given reader.
You'll see a list of the different content pieces the reader has engaged with. If you click on the name of one, you'll be taken to a dashboard that shows how that individual reader interacted with each chapter of that particular document and any interactive widgets featured.
