Data exports and offline analysis

Digging into raw data

Downloading your Turtl data opens the door to deeper analysis. Export any of your dashboards directly into Excel to access your analytics offline and delve further into your content and client data.

External analysis

Exported data from Turtl can be used to maintain central analytics databases, or match Known Readers against company lead scoring systems. Combining data from Turtl with external company datasets can lead to a more thorough understanding of individual readers.

Custom dataset visuals

The Turtl dashboard contains analytics visuals for source, device, and location. Downloading raw data means you can use information gathered in Turtl to create your own custom visuals for different metrics. You might illustrate reader engagement fall-off across chapters or show sign-ups throughout the year.

Widget engagement

Are your readers more likely to engage with a poll or follow a 'read more' button? In your exported data file, you'll find widget engagement information under the 'Interactions' tab. Completing this analysis across multiple Docs will allow you to easily see how to lift your audience engagement.

Direct Doc comparison

Downloading data from multiple Docs means that you can compare content performance directly. Which of your Docs has the highest average read time? Which has produced the most leads over the past six months?

How to export your data

On any analytics dashboard, you'll see the Download button above the filters. Click on this to download an Excel file containing the data currently shown on your chosen dashboard.

You will automatically download the data which is displayed according to your set filters. That means if you have your timeframe filter set to the last week, you will only download the data from the last week. To export all of your data, clear your filters and select a custom timeframe.

Your downloaded Excel file displays the dashboard metrics across different tabs. The 'General' tab contains the time and date of when you exported the data. This is worth noting, since your analytics will be updating in real-time in Turtl, and the exported data may become outdated.

Tip: If you have access to Turtl as a Viewer, you can still download analytics reports.
